The most important change for Kibirkstis was the appointment of Sandra Linkeviciene as the team's head coach. Linkevičienė is a Lithuanian basketball icon who previously served as an assistant coach for the team. In addition, the team also added Agne Cerneckyte, who returned from France, and Ugne Grigaliunaite, who had been playing in the Lithuanian B League.

These changes paid off immediately, as Kibirkštis defeated the LCC International University team 63-56 in a closely contested game. Justina Miknaite led the winners with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.

On Sunday, Kibirkštis traveled to Panevėžys, where they defeated the home team 76-42. The hosts were without their injured leader, Kriste Timofejeva, and had no answer for the visiting silver medalists.

Despite the loss, the fans in Panevezys created a great atmosphere.

Liepaja/LSSS faced teams that had yet to win a game and won easily. They defeated TTT-Juniores in Riga 100-42 and then beat Jurmala at home 84-60.
