The Betsafe-WBBL saw a lot of action last week, with eight games played. Neptunas-Amberton, RSU, and Panevezys each won two games, while LCC International University and Siauliai-Vilmers each won one.
Neptunas-Amberton (7-1) began the week by defeating Daugavpils University (2-8) 91-58 in Latvia. The Klaipeda team followed that up with a huge 94-79 win at home over league runners-up Kibirkstis (3-2).
The hosts had only seven players but defeated the Vilnius team convincingly. Viktoria Balaban led the winners with 29 points, Marina Solopova had 22, Maria Delgado - 21, and Ruta Stipra was close to a triple-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Kibirkštis was led by Egle Zabotkaite (17 points), Gabriele Sulske (16), Livija Sakeviciute (12), and Dalia Donskichyte (10).
RSU (6-4) started by defeating Riga Juniores/LU (1-5) 59-48 and then won a thrilling game on the road against Daugavpils University 73-71.
Anita Mikelsone had a big double-double in the first game with 20 points and 20 rebounds.
Panevezys (3-4) started the week with a 67-45 win over TTT Juniores (0-7) at home and then won 84-68 on the road against Jurmala (0-7).
Kriste Timofejeva was close to a triple-double in both games for the Lithuanian team. In the first game, the forward scored 16 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and had 9 assists. She had 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists in the second game.
In the other games between Lithuanian and Latvian teams, the favorites won. LCC International University (8-1) defeated Liepaja/LSSS (4-6) 91-51 on the road, and Siauliai-Vilmers (5-2) won 107-80 at home over Jurmala.
