This week in the BioSil-WBBL saw Neptunas-Amberton shocking reigning champions TTT-Riga, while Kibirkstis Vilnius and Siauliai-Vilmers secured convincing victories.
Taylor Murray delivered a career performance to lead Neptunas-Amberton to a resounding 80-64 victory over reigning Baltic Women's Basketball League (BioSil-WBBL) champions TTT Riga. With assistant coach Kamile Mickute stepping in for head coach Martynas Airosius, who was sidelined due to illness on his 31st birthday, Neptunas-Amberton overcame a halftime deficit to beat the Latvian powerhouse.
The game was closely contested in the first half, with TTT-Riga holding a narrow 32-29 lead at the break. However, Neptunas-Amberton came out firing in the third quarter, outscoring Riga 31-12 to take control of the game.
Murray was unstoppable, connecting on all four of her three-point attempts and finishing with 25 points, 8 rebounds, and an efficiency rating of 34.
While Murray shone for Neptunas-Amberton, Mia Faye Loyd put up a valiant effort for TTT Riga, recording 32 points and 10 rebounds. However, it wasn't enough to overcome Klaipeda's team.
Elsewhere in the A Division, Kibirkstis Vilnius continued their strong start to the season with a dominant 92-45 win over TSA/CITYTEED Tallinn. Egle Zabotkaite led the way for Kibirkstis with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and a 37 efficiency rating.
Siauliai-Vilmers also secured a comfortable victory, defeating RSU Riga 78-35. Malia Rose Bambrick was the star of the show for Siauliai-Vilmers, racking up 30 points, 9 rebounds, and an impressive 40 efficiency rating.
In the B Division, Aistes-LSMU Kaunas extended their winning streak to five games with a 114-42 demolition of the Latvian U16 national team. Brigita Rimkeviciute was the standout performer for Kaunas, contributing 27 points, 6 steals, and 37 efficiency rating.
Daugavpils University picked up their third win of the season, defeating Atletas in Kaunas 85-69. Ksenija Petrova (20 points) and Valerija Baranovska (19 points, 8 assists) led the way for Daugavpils, while Kateryna Kliuchinikie had a strong game for Atletas with 25 points and 14 rebounds.
Panevezys edged out TTT Riga Juniores 85-79 in a hard-fought contest in Riga. Kriste Timofejeva (21 points, 11 rebounds) and Gintarė Mazionyte (19 points, 12 rebounds) powered Panevezys to their fourth consecutive victory.
Sindija Miščenko led TTT Riga Juniores with 15 points.
