A week of exciting Biosil-WBBL action saw both Klaipėda teams, Neptunas-Amberton and LCC International University, secure victories in Division A, while TTT Riga Juniors emerged victorious from a dramatic clash in Division B.
In a thrilling contest broadcasted live on LRT plius with a record reach of 120,300 viewers, Neptunas-Amberton edged out Siauliai-Vilmers 64-59.
The game was closely contested early, with the score tied at 16 after the first quarter. However, Klaipeda's team unleashed a 9-0 run early in the second to build a double-digit lead they would maintain until halftime (44-34).
Siauliai-Vilmers battled back with determination, cutting the deficit to just three points (57-60) with 100 seconds remaining. Sabine Lipe had a chance to tie the game with a three-pointer, but her attempt missed the mark. A crucial turnover by Dalia Donskichyte in the final minute allowed Kate Vilka to score an easy basket for Neptunas-Amberton (62-57).
Despite a late surge by Siauliai-Vilmers, capped by a Malia Bambrick three-pointer (59-62), Neptunas-Amberton held on for the victory. Donskichyte's second turnover in the dying seconds sealed the win for Neptunas-Amberton.
Saule Mikelionyte and Ruta Stipra led the way for Neptunas-Amberton with 10 points each, and Bambrick paced Siauliai-Vilmers with 16 points.
LCC International University (4-2) returned to winning ways with a dominant 107-51 triumph over Liepaja/LSSS (1-4).
The Klaipeda squad showcased their offensive firepower, connecting on 14 of 30 three-point attempts and 33 of 42 free throws. LCC also controlled the boards (51-29) and dominated the assist category (32-11).
Gabija Meskonyte led LCC with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Lina Loceniece topped the scoring charts with 17 points. Estere Petrus was the high scorer for Liepaja/LSSS with 19 points.
In a dramatic Division B encounter, TTT Riga Juniors escaped with a narrow one-point victory 73-72 over Daugavpils University.
Daugavpils University held the upper hand for much of the game, building several double-digit leads in the first half. However, TTT Riga Juniors rallied in the fourth quarter with an 11-0 run to take a 55-53 lead.
The game remained tight down the stretch, with TTT Riga Juniors clinging to a 73-69 advantage with two minutes remaining. Daugavpils University closed the gap to one point (73-72) with free throws and had a chance to win the game in the final seconds. However, Valerija Baranovska's desperation three-pointer missed the mark, giving TTT Riga Juniors a hard-fought victory.
Polina Tupalo was the star performer for TTT Riga Juniors, recording 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Megija Zeltina and Liva Linina each added 12 points for the winners. Baranovska led Daugavpils University with 23 points.
