An overtime thriller between league leaders and stellar Petronyte's performance

The opening game of the week took place on Wednesday in Klaipeda, where LCC Klaipeda (8-9) hosted Siauliai-Vilmers (6-11) and won the game 73-56 (22-13, 24-11, 11-10, 16-22).

Although Maisa Pereira Dias didn't provide a high-scoring performance for the winners, she was the most efficient player on the team. The 20-year-old Brazilian finished the game with 7 points (3/6 2PT, 1/2 FT), 18 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 27 EFF.

Siauliai-Vilmers had a poor shooting night from long range, as they finished the game with 3 of 18 3-pointers (17%).

On Saturday, Daugavpils University (2-14) achieved an upset 67-65 (19-15, 19-17, 11-15, 18-18) win over Neptunas Klaipeda (11-5).

Two free throws from Viktoriya Babych with 39 seconds left, clinched the victory for the Latvian team.

Babych also put the best performance of the game, finishing with 20 points (6/9 2PT, 2/7 3PT, 2/2 FT), 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 6 turnovers, and 21 EFF.

Meanwhile, TTT Riga (9-7) celebrated a comfortable 77-60 (23-14, 19-6, 26-24, 9-16) win over TalTech Tallinn (9-8).

Dekeiya Cohen was unstoppable for the winners, accumulating 17 points (7/14 2PT, 3/3 FT), 18 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 2 turnovers, 4 drawn fouls, and 33 EFF.

The last Saturday's game took us to overtime, as Rigas Stradina University (15-0) kept their perfect record after beating Aistes Kaunas (12-6) 77-70 (22-19, 14-16, 8-16, 18-11, 15-8).

With 46 seconds left it was still a 4-point game (73-69), but Enija Viksne made a floater and secured the win for the hosts.

For Rigas Stradina University, Mara Mote scored 20 points (1/3 2PT, 4/15 3PT, 6/8 FT) and added 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal, 5 turnovers, 7 drawn fouls, and 20 EFF.

However, Tyra Maria Buss put up an even more spectacular performance, finishing the game with 35 points (4/7 2PT, 7/14 3PT, 6/10 FT), 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 8 drawn fouls, 4 turnovers, and 30 EFF. Despite her effort, it wasn't enough for Aistes.

Sunday was a day of blowouts

In the first game of the day, Kibirkstis Vilnius (13-2) comfortably 81-37 (28-5, 22-8, 17-11, 14-13) beat BJBS Riga (2-13).

Gintare Petronyte put up a monster performance, finishing the game with 18 points (6/8 2PT, 6/6 FT), 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 blocks, 1 steal, 5 drawn fouls, and 39 EFF in just 18 minutes of play.

Meanwhile, Rigas Stradina University secured its second win in two days after beating Siauliai-Vilmers 78-40 (23-8, 20-7, 26-8, 9-17).

Luize Septe stole the show with her 8 points (2/6 2PT, 0/1 3PT, 4/4 FT), 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 5 blocks, 4 drawn fouls, and 27 EFF performance.

In the standings, not much has changed. Riga Stradina University comfortably sits in the first place, while Aistes Kaunas retained second spot. However, Kibirkstis Vilnius has three games in hand. Neptunas Klaipeda sits comfortably in the fourth place.

Looking at the bottom, Audentes Tallinn remains the only team without a win, while Daugavpils University managed to jump into 10th place. However, Siauliai-Vilmers in 9th position has four victories more.
