The Biosil-WBBL 2024-2025 season opened with Division A action, introducing a new system and fresh teams.

Kibirkstis Vilnius had a dominant opening week with two victories. First, they triumphed 78-65 over Neptunas-Amberton Klaipeda, powered by Sydney Taylor’s 31 points and Giedre Labuckiene’s 21 points and 10 rebounds. Labuckiene also earned one of the highest efficiency ratings of the week with 35 points.

In their second game, Kibirkstis beat Siauliai-Vilmers 86-47, giving their bench valuable minutes, with Justina Miknaite (14), Daugile Use (13 points and 10 rebounds), and Sintija Aukstikalnyte (13) being the top scorers. Siauliai's Dalia Donskichyte, a former Kibirkstis player, led her team with 14 points.

Defending champions TTT-Riga opened the season with a 72-60 win against RSU in a Riga derby. Anna Liepiņa, who joined from Daugavpils, shone with 23 points and 8 rebounds, earning a league-high efficiency rating of 36. Teammates Ketija Vihmane (15 points) and Ilze Jakobsone (11 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists) also contributed significantly, while RSU’s Aleksa Skudra led her team with 17 points.

In another Latvian matchup, SBK Liepaja/LSSS secured a 45-42 victory away in a low-scoring thriller against RSU. Sarlote Petersone scored 14 for RSU, while Liepaja's Estere Petrus and Madara Kilpe added 11 and 10 points respectively, with Kilpe grabbing 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, LCC International University defeated Siauliai-Vilmers 78-68 after a dominant first quarter (30-9). Four LCC players scored 14 points each: Gabija Meskonyte (who also had 11 rebounds), Gerda Raulusaitytė, Lina Loceniece, and Maiara Dias. Siauliai’s Agne Cerneckyte, also a former Kibirkstis player, hit 6 three-pointers and finished with 24 points, while Malia Bambrick added 16.
